What are Porcelain Veneers?

A porcelain veneer is a custom made thin shell of porcelain that is bonded to the front of a natural tooth.  Each veneer can be made to a custom length or width and shaped to match a beautiful natural tooth.  When ten veneers are placed on the upper and/or lower teeth, they create a straight, white, stunning smile.  Today, most actors, television personalities, models, singers, and many professional athletes have porcelain veneers.

The team feels close-knit with great attitudes. Hard to find that. It’s like they have passion for life and living it intentionally and it flows into all that they do. They just get it!

Matthew R.

Went in with extreme pain and a bit nervous about the process. Dr. Huff opened a very informative dialogue and within an hour I was in my way with the issue fixed and my mouth feeling great again.

FAQ

Everything you need to know about veneers

Typically, the veneer procedure is not painful. Your dentist will numb the area before preparing your teeth and placing the veneers to ensure you are comfortable throughout the process. Some patients may experience mild sensitivity or discomfort following the procedure, but this is usually temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Your dentist will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to help you manage any discomfort and ensure a smooth recovery.

The veneer procedure typically involves two to three appointments. During the first appointment, your dentist will perform a comprehensive dental exam, take X-rays, and discuss your goals and expectations. They will then prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel to make room for the veneers. Impressions of your teeth will be taken and sent to a dental lab to create your custom veneers. At the second appointment, your dentist will place the veneers on your teeth using a special bonding agent. In some cases, a third appointment may be necessary to make minor adjustments or ensure a perfect fit.

If your veneer falls off or becomes damaged, it's important to contact your dentist as soon as possible. They will need to examine your tooth to determine the best course of action. In some cases, the veneer can be reattached using a special dental bonding agent. If the veneer is damaged beyond repair, a new veneer may need to be made to replace it. It's important to avoid trying to fix the veneer yourself or using over-the-counter dental products as these can cause further damage. With proper care and maintenance, veneers can last for many years, but it's important to schedule regular dental check-ups to ensure they remain in good condition.

Yes! “West Texas Teeth” is extremely common in our area due to the high mineral content in the water. Bleaching cannot treat this condition. However, beautiful and natural looking all-porcelain veneers can give you a perfect and dazzling white smile. In fact, this is one of the top complaints people who come to us have about their smile.
